Hello and Welcome!  I am Karen Clark, a native of Roanoke, VA living in the Smith Mountain Lake area. I spent many weekends at Smith Mountain as a child and I love this area and the people.  My husband (Chuck) and I have called Franklin County home since we were married in 1985.
 

Growing up, I was surrounded by animals. We had several calves, dogs, cats and a pony. I have always had pets (or they had me!). I would not know any other way of life and wouldn’t want to. Unconditional love is a priceless gift that a pet owner receives each and every day. I believe that ensuring our pets’ safety and quality of life is the best testament of our love for them.
 

It is for this reason, that I decided to start Pawtector Pet Care, LLC after retiring from a thirty-three year career in the banking industry. I have over 43 years of practical experience caring for my own pets as well as those of family and friends. I have been honored to care for many pets from puppy/kitten to their ‘old age’. I understand the special needs they often have during their life.

Over the years, I have had personal pets with Cardiomyopathy, diabetes, cataracts and dementia. Throughout all of the trials, there have been triumphs and learnings. The best part of all is the LOVE and joy they’ve brought to my life. I currently have two dogs: Rangler, a Collie/Husky mix and Heart, a Doberman. Like the pets before them, they make our lives whole and happy.
 

Pet care is not a ‘one size fits all’ service. I am committed to caring for your pets as I care for my own and more importantly, as you do!
